Edward H. Hemmer

	Edward H. Hemmer, 71, of DuQuoin, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 2:10 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital.
	Mr. Hemmer had been a coal miner at Freeman United.  He attended First United Methodist Church.  He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
	He was born September 12, 1930 in DuQuoin, the son of William O. and Mary Lydia (Wendling) Hemmer.  He married Shirley R. Neal on October 29, 1955 at DuQuoin.
	Surviving are his wife, Shirley of DuQuoin; brother, Wilbur Hemmer of DuQuoin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcella and Ralph Hayes of Pinckneyville, Marie Mozi of DuQuoin, Patsy and Stanley Wheatley of DuQuoin and Betty and Frank Graff of Carterville; sister-in-law, Betty Hemmer of DuQuoin; brothers-in-law, James 'Bus' Neal of DuQuoin and Charles Redman of Pinckneyville and several nieces and nephews.
	He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Delbert.
	Funeral services were Wednesday, May 15 at 10 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. Carl Mesiti officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park.
	Friends called at Neal-McClure Funeral Home in DuQuoin on Tuesday from 6 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m.
